Cascadia: Landmarks

Cascadia: Landmarks Expansion 🌲

During my recent trip to Munich, I couldn't resist picking up the expansion for Cascadia. I had some extra time and got to take a stroll to FUNtainment München. As a fan of the base game, I was excited to see how this new addition would enhance the gaming experience.

Cascadia has been raved about by many for it engaging gameplay and replayability. Players create harmonious ecosystems by strategically placing tiles and wildlife tokens.

What’s New in the Expansion?

The expansion introduces several exciting elements:

1. New Habitat Tiles: These tiles bring fresh landscapes to explore, adding more variety and complexity to the game. The new terrain types challenge players to think differently about their tile placements and wildlife corridors.

2. Additional Wildlife Tokens: Additional tokens now allows the game to be played with up to six players.

3. Landmark tokens: The Landmarks module can be added to any game and allow players to score even more points.

4. New Wildlife Scoring Cards: The expansion includes a set of 15 scoring cards, with 3 available for each Wildlife, allowing for interchangeable play.

5. Solo Mode Enhancements: For those who enjoy solo gaming, the expansion includes new challenges tailored for solo play. These enhancements make the solo experience more rewarding and varied, ensuring that the game remains fresh.

My First Impressions
After playing a few rounds with the new expansion, I’m thrilled with how it has revitalized the game. The new habitat tiles and wildlife tokens seamlessly integrate with the base game, adding depth without overwhelming complexity. The scenarios have been fun, offering fresh goals that keep every game session exciting.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Cascadia or new to the game, this expansion is a great addition that enhances the overall experience. If you get the chance, I highly recommend picking it up and exploring what it offers.

Happy gaming
